Detox is a bad mutha (shut yo' mouth)!

Are you really that heartbroken or are you just suffering from detox???

We often trick ourselves into believing that we're in love, but more times than not its just that we've gotten so used to being around someone. Unfortunately, when they leave, we literally feel sick.  A chemical imbalance occurs in our brains that makes this process extremely difficult.  Its so important to be selective about who we choose to be around and spend our time with.  Even if we didn't like the person in the beginning, we find yourself feeling empty when that person is gone.  Therefore, it really sucks when this happens behind someone we could have cared less about six months ago.

The tricky part is that you really will experience real symptoms of withdrawal.  Yes, the stomach pains, the heartache, the weight loss or weight gain...its all real.  The endorphins that are usually fired in your brain, when that person is around, are no longer being fired and... bingo, you're going thru detox.

Remember to take it one day at a time and even one hour at a time, in some cases.   The pain will get easier with each day that passes.  Most importantly, use your period of heartbreak to make a plan not to let anyone else take up your "good years" if they're not worthy or can't see you for the prize that you are.  Always depart with your pride before things get ignorant...it'll keep you from having to reach for the morphine.
